- President Moi became the first president in the republic of Kenya to visit dormitories for Nairobi University students where he had tea at 4pm and immediately announced an increase in students’ allowances from shs.45 to 60 per day. He promised to explore other student needs that were mentioned in the record entrusted to him by Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) when they visited him in the the State House in Nairobi.
