- There were the following issues; Arusha Governor Aaron Weston Mwakangáta took the initiative to address the issue of the people of Maasai and Arusha and told them to abandon their old traditions and stand shoulder to shoulder with other Tanzanians and the status quo in the 20th century,
- The Tonic Band of Dar es Salaam camped in Arusha and one of their most popular songs is “Mpenzi Umeondoka” was played.
