Kenya’s education system may be about to undergo a major change. The minister for higher education, Mr. Joseph Kamotho, announced that the government envisaged a re-organisation of the educational system in which the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) examination will be scraped and the recommended nine-year primary education reduced by one year. He said that the move was necessary because of the cost involved in implementing the nine-year programme.
