- At last the government has unveiled a plan for privatising the country’s parastatals. The details ofthe plan are not yet clear and no doubt it is going to take some time before the modalities have been worked out. In order to ensure that they also work efficiently and profitably they should not be permitted to continue enjoying monopolies covering every aspect of their operations.
