The announcement by the minister for basic education , Professor Jonathan Ng’eno , that all teachers in Kenya will be enumerated, was recive with a fair amount of suprise. Ng’eno said the three day census ewill provide the government with accurate data on the qualifications of teachers in the service and their geographical distribution and also help the government in planning the country’s education programme.
