- The gold and coal miners strike in South Africa has ended . South Africa’s economy has in the past depended on the cheapness of that labour, but for economy to expand and fortify itself against increasingly forceful applications of foreign economics sanctions against apartheid ,the participation of blacks in that economy must go beyound the mere supply of cheap labour.
