The decision by President Daniel Arap Moi to release hundreds of former Kenya Air Force soldiers and University of Nairobi students who were in custody pending completion of judicial proceedings arising out of seditious behavior related to the abortive coup, should be taken as a statementaly attempt to heal the wounds inflicted upon the nation by the events of August 1,1982 and for this reason those affected by it should reciprocate the spirit in which the clemency has been granted.
