President Daniel Arap Moi has told politicians to stop using his name in public for their own personal ends and more important has ordered the provincial administration and police machinery to do everything to protect the name of the president from misuse.
Measures to be employed to this end include ensuring that licensed speakers are able to provide verbatim records of what is said at meetings which they are licensed to hold.
