After a slow start, the election fever is gathering momentum with a number of prominent aspirants to parliamentary seats announcing their intentions to run in the september general elections. The original slow response by politicians to the president’s decision to call a snap election before parliament’s term was due to expire seems to be the result of the suprise with which the public greeted the announcement.
