  • The cash strapped umbrella, the NCCK is to sack more than 1,000 workers countrywide.
  • The massive sacking, insiders confided, are part of the NCCK’s retrenchment and restructuring programme which is to cost a whooping Shs 500 million in compensation.
  • The lay offs is in line with the recommendations made by the Strategic Management Task Force ( The Kamwesa Commission) of March 1994 which was charged with typing up loose ends and streamlining of the National Council of Churches of Kenya.
